Create folder

In Notepad, go to File>Open... and create a new folder:

A new folder shows up with the name highlighted... just type in "images".


Click off or Enter to accept the folder name, then click on the "Cancel" button.

Finding Good Quality Photos

Finding your first picture

In a new tab in Chrome, search for pictures for your first topic.

  • When you find a picture you like, click on the thumbnail and see how it looks in the preview. Make sure it's clear, not blurry!
  • The other thing is the size. Is it big enough? Check the first #:
    • wide/horizontal type of picture = at least 500px width
    • tall/vertical/square type of picture = at least 250px width

Saving pictures

To save the picture, right-click on the preview (not the thumbnail!) and Save image as...

  • Navigate to your website folder >> This PC >> Z: >> website >> images
  • File name: one word name adding a space and then H or V depending on if it's the Horizontal or Vertical type of picture. 

two pictures for each topic/section

Find and save 2 pictures for each topic, one of each type: 

  • Horizontal Picture - horizontal/wide type of picture, width at least 500px
  • Vertical Picture = vertical/square type of picture, width at least 250px

Make sure to give the pictures the right type of name (short, with H or V).

When you're done, your images folder should look like this...
