Master Layout

Slide Master View

Go to the VIEW tab > Slide Master...

Scroll up the list of slide thumbnails on the left - click on the top slide in the list on the left (the one with the "1" beside it).

1) Headings

Font type

Select the title box - click on the border (the outline should be solid, not dotted anymore)...

Go to the HOME tab and change the Font type to one of the following:

In my example, I'm using 'Showcard Gothic'. You can see it changed the headings on all slide layout templates to the new font type...

Style

With the title box still selected, go to the SHAPE FORMAT tab, and then click on Quick Styles

Find a style you like. It should trickle down to other layout templates on the left...

Font size

Go back to the HOME tab and pump up the font size 54-60...

Title box size

When you're done, reduce the height of the title box so it's the height of 1 line of text (which is all you'll need for your titles)...

2) Lists

Font type & Size

  1. Select all the text in the box
  2. Change the type to "Bookman Old Style".
  3. Set the font size to '24' using the drop-down menu.

Note: do NOT pump up the font size as that will make the smallest bullet 24, but each level up is bigger, making the top bullets huge, size 36!

Text Box size

  1. Increase the height of the text box up so it's hugging the title box and further down...
  2. Reduce the width to about half of the slide.

3) Year

Make sure nothing is selected on your slide. Then go to the INSERT tab, and insert WordArt... choose the white indented one...

You'll now have a text box like this on your slide...

Type in your year...

Then click and drag on the rotate arrow, holding SHIFT until it's sideways like this...

Hover over the edge of the text box - when your cursor turns to a 4-pointed arrow, click and drag the box over...

Move it to left bottom side bar...

Normal View

Click on the Normal View button on the bottom right of your window to go back to your slides.

Or go back to Slide Master tab and Close Master View on the far right

Your list slides should now look like this...

Reset each list slide...

Then make the names bold again on Slide #4 (Births or Deaths).
